The ways of arriving

Types of Walk-Ins

Over the years, teachers and communities have described many ways a soul may arrive. These are the main ones, as they appear in the teachings.

Classic (replacement) walk-in

The original soul completes its journey and returns home; a new soul enters and continues the life, keeping its memories.

Associated with: Ruth Montgomery, Strangers Among Us (1979) and Threshold to Tomorrow (1983)

Soul exchange

A pre-arranged, loving agreement between two souls, planned before birth or arranged in the dream state.

Associated with: Montgomery; Walk-in Evolution community (founded by Liz Nelson, 1990s)

Soul braid / soul merge

A soul or higher aspect weaves together with the existing soul. Both remain and blend into a new, expanded self, usually gradually.

Associated with: Walk-in Evolution and Yvonne Perry, Walk-ins Among Us (2013); wider channeled teachings

Partial or aspect walk-in

A fragment, oversoul aspect, or future or past self joins and integrates, bringing a soul home to greater wholeness.

Associated with: Ascension and multidimensional-soul teachings

Sequential walk-in

More than one arrival or upgrade over a lifetime, each adding new gifts.

Associated with: Community teachings

Starseed / ET walk-in

A soul with a star lineage (Pleiadian, Sirian, Arcturian, Andromedan, Lyran and others) steps into a human life to help Earth.

Associated with: Montgomery, Aliens Among Us (1985); later starseed teachers

Wanderer

A soul from a higher density who is born into a human body, forgets its origin, and remembers over time. A close cousin of the walk-in.

Associated with: The Ra Material / Law of One (1981–84)

Volunteer soul

Pure souls who answered a call to help Earth, arriving in three waves.

Associated with: Dolores Cannon, The Three Waves of Volunteers and the New Earth

Earth Angel walk-in

A highly evolved soul who enters mid-life to serve as a lightworker.

Associated with: Doreen Virtue, Earth Angels (2002)
